According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the nation's highest court rejected an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
