Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes reverberate through the shadows." The storyline features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The adventure centers on "peculiar tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an exclusive katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime franchises. The series earlier included a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
